Fitting a Power commander.

After some advice on power commanders please.

Never had one on bike's i've had in the past so....

The PCv? Does it just plug into the loom of the Tenere?

Do you have to block the AIS with a PCv fitted?

Do you need to mess with the exhaust sensor?

Will it come with any maps loaded or will it be set as standard so a map will be needed?

Many thanks all

The PCv? Does it just plug into the loom of the Tenere? Yes - Well, least mine did on my XTX apart from wiring the loom into the PCV itself but the wires are all colour coded anyway for ease.

Do you have to block the AIS with a PCv fitted? No if using a downloaded map. Yes if you intend to make a custom map/autotune. Probably better to block it anyway. Oh and when blocking it, all I did myself was use some electrical insulation tape to cover the end of the plastic male pipe coming out of the airbox, and then wrapped the tape around it to hold it secure. When you then fit the AIS hose back on, the clamp holds it all in place nicely.

Do you need to mess with the exhaust sensor? Yes. I believe you need to fit an O2 eliminator. Can leave the sensor screwed into the exhaust, or fit a bung. I have some O2 eliminators I made myself should you want one.

Will it come with any maps loaded or will it be set as standard so a map will be needed? Wont come with any maps loaded so you will need to either download a map from here onto it or take it to a dyno centre who will map it for you. Failing that, I think Kev may have some PCV maps, or, I can pull the map off my XTX and email it to you.

Many thanks all

The PCv? Does it just plug into the loom of the Tenere? Plugs into the injector, TPS & a earth wire to the battery.

Do you have to block the AIS with a PCv fitted? Only if you want to stop the poping, or making a custom fuel map on the dyno or you have a Auto Tune from Dyno Jet

Do you need to mess with the exhaust sensor? Not on the XTZ they seem to run quite fine with the O2 sensor connected with a fuelling device. If you disconnect the O2 sensor you must remove the O2 sensor otherwise it will clog up over time & will not work when you come to use it again one day.

Will it come with any maps loaded or will it be set as standard so a map will be needed? If you buy from Simon he will load the correct map for your set up.

Many thanks all
