Mpg

Found a pretty good site for keeping track of vehicle MPG, and sharing with other users. I'm not bothered about the X's MPG as I don't use her as often as I would like & the throttle is always wide open when I do ride her.

I'm more interested in my car (Civic petrol engine) as I do quite a lot of miles commuting to work and a liter of 95 octane costs 3.65TL (1.54/€1.72 ) Looking to switch to a new Focus 1.6TDCI....never thought I'd see the day I consider buying a diesel!

It's free to register and has many vehicle types, including the XT660 range. Enjoy

Ooops, forgot to add the link

Mpg V Tax

So my 660 can manage 60mpg or more if I am gentle with it, so how come I am paying 66.00 for my road tax, when I can get a car for 35.00 that struggles to do 60 to the gallon, where is the sense in that?.

They have got it all WRONG!

I was just thinking that the other day, and the 35 is going down to 20 after April.

My Xtx does 50-60mpg depending on how I'm riding and the type of riding.
My diesel scenic 1.9 does 45-55mpg depending etc. (very practical & versatile).
The Cooper S Convertible does hmm not so much say Low thirties to about 40 if I'm good. (Not very practical but great fun).

60 Mpg?

You are really getting 60 mpg with your xt660? I have always though myself to be somewhat of a sissy when it comes to riding motorcycles and I can only manage 50 mpg.

I guess I'll have to try and ride mine super carefully for a while and see how she does.
