Hi Folks i am relativly new here, and am expecting to take delivery of my xtx next week, however i am interested in ading some luggage, i have a complete Givi system from my previous bike (xl1000) but the guys at the dealer say that the maxia top box will be to big? i am interested to find out what othere people have fitted, and is it any good and is it to big / small, i also have some soft luggage as well and am even considering using that instead, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Im using the Yamaha boxes which as expected are a perfect fit. If I didnt have these I would look at the Givi E21's, Touratechs , or Hepco and beckers

Too big for what?

It should still fit on the bike if you got a Givi mounting kit, although it may look a bit out of place.

Simple the guy is taking crap, ive filled both panniers (48ltrs etc) and top box (52ltrs) and roll bag (40ltrs filled) + 15 stone rider, and toured england for 2.5 weeks, and done 2.5k miles. The luggage was not all really heavy but i would gues to say it was around 50-60kg or so, just like having another person on the bike with you. Only thing is the wind does catch the bike and upset it a bit but nothing you cant handle with a bit of muscle.

I think what they meant was that Givi don't do mounting kits for that model, as I was told the same thing. You can obviously fiddle around and modify a mounting plate to fit. I have the 46litre one. Seeing as we're picture whoring, here's my bike
