DNA St 1 AIR RESTRICTOR INSERT YAMAHA XT660Z TENERE 08-09
just surfing and noticed this, anybody used one?
http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk...oducts_id=9440 For maximum engine protection, this Insert TCI-Y6E08-S1 is designed to be used in conjunction with the Stage 2 Air Box Cover TC-Y6E08-S2 and Filter Element R-Y6E08-01 to restrict air flow to safe linits when a Power Commander or similar fuel injecion controller is not used. Using the DNA Stage 2 cover without fitting this Insert or modifying the fuel injection is not recommended and can cause damage to the engine. |

DNA Stage 1 XT660Z TCI-Y6E08-S1 RESTRICTOR
Quote:
We all know by now that the XT660Z Tenere stock air box has a problem and in some cases it will allow the air filter to move freely around and not seal, additionaly the plastic air box top cover could break at the points where the bolts go thru if excessive force is used to keep the filter in place. Yamaha South Africa, in order to take care of this problem and provide to the SA XT660Z owners the best solution for the harsh South African environment, has chose to replace all the stock filters and air box covers with DNA Filters parts. So DNA designed a stage 1 restrictor specialy for Yamaha SA and specifically for the owners that wished to keep their bike stock, and use the DNA stage 1 filter R-Y6E08-01, with the DNA Stage 2 air box cover TC-Y6E08-S2. Our engineers designed a restrictor that reduces the air flow of the stage 2 cover from 77,17 CFM to 61,48 CFM, just over the stock air box covers air flow. So everone can use the DNA Stage 2 cover that is made out of laser cut steel, with a rubber part molded on it, and it is bullet proof! Regardless the force applied. The restrictors part No. is TCI-Y6E08-S1 and is available for all the XT660Z owners that wish to use the DNA stage 2 cover (ordered separately) as a Stage 1 application. It simply clicks in place and can be removed without tools very easily if the owner would like to upgrade to Stage 2 and add a powercommander to the bike. Once more I am posting the Air flow results according to the combination used and the power/torque graphs. DNA would like to thank Yamaha South Africa, our distributor in SA INTERAC and all the XT owners for their support. I remain to your disposal for any further information you would need. Sincerely, Dino Nikolaidis Managing Director DNA Filters, Greece |
