low beam headlight is very dull
Hi,
Just got my new '05 XT660X home and went to go for a ride at night, upon doing so i noticed the low beam is about as bright as the parker lights on a car (or even less). The high beam is really nice and bright, but with the low beam on it is like there's no light on at all, the light doesn't even make it onto the road. Just wondering if anyone would have any ideas what could be causing this? Was thinking it might be a dud bulb (will try replacing tomorrow) Also thought that if the bulb was a dud (or blown) that it wouldn't light up at all? Thanks -Jared |

When you turn the key all the way...but don't fire her up, take a look at the light. Does it stay the same after starting her up? If so then that there is the park light ('dipped' in UK?) and your main beam has blown.
Like so(RedDogs bike)...

Cheers for the info, pulled that bulb out and it was blown. Put another one back in, got a Narva branded one... was daylight when I put it in so it was hard to tell if it was getting brighter when I turned the bike from the on position to start.
Does anyone know how many watts that bulb is supposed to be? Couldn't find the info in the manual. |
