Touratech Handguards - Vibrating
Morning chaps
Has anyone fitted the Touratech handguards to a Tenere yet? I fitted them on the weekend and they supply new bar ends but yesterday I noticed the handlebars vibrating at 40mph, the only thing I can think of is the Touratech bar ends are not heavy enough to replace the Yam stock bar ends and its causing issues. |

I just ordered the handguards, hope to get them tomorrow.

I have had the Touratech jobs fitted for 4000 miles. Haven't noticed any difference in the vibrations before and after. The end weights aren't as weighty so there may be a little difference but not discernible to me and I'm not a big ham fisted type. The original end weights are a bit hideous though, so losing them is a good step and narrows the bike by about three feet!

i put on my handguards before i got too used to the weights, I dont have any problems and without these ridiculous lumps on the end i can get the bike in and out without having to move cars to allow for the width.

Then i have a 90 degree turn to the right, wich takes me 3 times to get thru. I ordered blue ones with yellow spoilers. Also ordered a 12v socket from TT. Can't wait to put them on.

I've had them for nearly a year now. They do vibrate a wee bit more than with the standard bar ends. if you do a search I'm sure someone on the site has done a wee mod to use the handguards and the origional bar ends

Venom's crash well-
I noticed more vibes after fitting them as I removed the OE bar end weights, but as the bike has done more miles it's softened and the vibes are less noticeable. |

I fitted the Touratech ones with the bar ends they supplied as soon as I got the bike so I can't remember if they are much worse or not. Have to say though, I've done about 4,000 miles so far over all sorts of trails and tarmac, including several off-road 'offs' and the guards have been fine......anyway, the vibration keeps my hands warm in the winter

I've got the OE bar end weights fitted with TT handguards, as I found the vibration with the much lighter TT bar end thingies to be intrusive. A couple of washers fill out the gap, and also prevent such unpleasantness as the throttle sticking wide open.
To be honest, I wish I hadn't bought the TT handguards. I was after weather protection more than crash protection, and I think the KTM handguards described in other threads - which fit with very little in the way of modification - provide better weather protection for a lot less money. |

Actually I've already spoken to TT and explained the problem so I'm very tempted to send them back to them and buy the KTM hand guards. The vibration has taken the smooth ride of the tenere away for me
