Cracked Frame RH side

Anybody had a cracked frame yet ?
I just came back from a hectic trip into the Deset , a lot of very rocky riding , but it might have started earlier.
I use my bike for work everyday , but do about 350km every other weekend off road.
My bike has 59 000 km on and is 06 XT660R.
I`m repairing the frame(TIG weld it)
Never part with that bike.

PS ,
Check my long range tanks at the rear I made myself , 4.6 litres each

I have friend in Pta with cracked frame at the back on sub assembly.
He carries a Givi top box on a Yam genuine part frame thingy....he confessed that he loads it bit more than what is written on box...so we suspect that might be cause.
Crack is somewhere in regoin of exhaust bracket.
Are you loading anything on back when doing these trips?,,,maybe you must support those fuel tanks towards the centre of the bike at bottom. did that with my panniers...ran a bar down towards the footrest to give support low down to middle of bike instead of carrying all weight on frame at back.

Cracks

No , mine has cracked 150 mm up from the foot pegs , Have a look at the fram in a schematic diagram and you will; see how badly its made , that might explain why the changed the frame on the Tenere.

Interesting...you should think that that is part of the strongest places on the frame....
Would be insteresting to hear from other riders.

I would weld some gussets to the frame once it has been repaired.
