Handguards

Hi all,

Just though I'd feedback my experiences with Barkbusters, and also ask some questions.

First of all barkbusters themselves have been really friendly and helpful, with a XT660Z specific handguard being produced in the very recent past - it's code is BHG19. However, CI Sport and Dirt Bike Bitz (the UK sellers) aren't aware of them yet so if you enquire you'll get some confused replies. CI Sport are the official distributors, though Dirt Bike Bitz are where you actually get the items from. The following is from an email Barkbusters sent to me:

If you buy the BSC STD and BHG18 then you also need to use the clamps from the BSC STD and not the ones supplied with the BHG18. The BHG18 plus BSC STD mounting kit will provide you with all the required parts (BSC STD contains the 14mm aluminium bar end inserts that you need). Slightly more expensive than waiting for the BHG19 but a lot quicker...

And therein lies the problem, he reckoned the BHG19s would cost 84.99 which isn't cheap, even if they are good. Touratech ones cost 87 and it's all looking quite expensive.

I'm looking to try and use the original weights, though I'm not sure that'll be possible, but if anyone has advice on suitable handguard with a link / price that'd be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

Hello,

Get yourself a pair of Acerbis Rally Pro copies like these:

http://bikes4all.co.uk/shop/product_...1657355cc9abab

(They also sell on ebay a little cheaper)

Then some 2mm HDPE plastic sheet like this:

http://www.directplasticsonline.co.u...eet/Black/2mm/

And cut out some spilers to fit on the handguards like this:

Sorted !!

Darren,

I have used them a couple of times and they seem ok.

Depending on what size you want then you might find it cheaper on ebay.

Hi Nick,

how did you fit the Acerbis Rally Pro in the original handlebar? I'm having issues about the brake lever and reservoir.
