Gearbox problem...
Hi..
Im having problems with my gearbox... It is very noisy when changing gears.. It happens from first day when i bought it. Today I have 7500km.. Currently is in Motul 5100 15W50 oil. Example of problem... Im riding 120 in 5th gear and im stopping and changing gear to 1st.. Every time when i change gear is very noisy.. Except if I stop and then change gear to 1st. What could it be? |

Have you checked the clutch cable is properly adjusted - it may be clutch drag.

You are getting into areas that are beyond my ability to describe (such as the lay shaft) and I do not want to waste your time doing unnecessary checks - if your gears are not meshing/unmeshing cleanly then it needs a competent mechanic to investigate.
If you join the XT Supporters you will be able to Ask Kev who is the mechanical guru on the forum and he will guide you through the steps necessary to diagnose/correct the problem.
