Meter assembly - vibrates, screwed to the maximum
Hi!
I'm going to buy a 2nd hand Tenere. The bike is almost new - 14 km and runs smooth. However I found that the meter assembly vibrates like hell. It's loosened so I can move it up/down and tilt front/back a little bit. It seems that 3 mounting screws are screwed to the maximum but still they have some free play on these gum "washers/bumpers" (seep page 4-3 in the service manual). Do you have the same on your bikes? Thanks |

Yep and mostly between 3500-4000rpm, when fully tanked. Otherwise not. But the console can't be fixed too tight, otherwise it'll probably break due to the vibes of the thumper-engine. You gotta live with it. I do, anyway!
Greetz, Hans.

I had the same problem - a simple fix is to take the speedo assembly (meters) off, put a squidge of silicon sealant around the rubbers/pins and reassemble - sorted.
As Dallas says, don't try and do those screws up too tight, could turn out expensive x xxx |
