Have you Ridden in the deserts before ? I have just moved back to the UK from the sultanate of Oman where we had a great Bike club mostly enduro. One of the guys Youcef cummings is going to be riding the next dakar.

Any way back to the point Hot dry sand is really tough, I used to have 45mm bar risers fitted to my bike so i could stand comfortably. lower the tire pressures to 12-13 psi and keep the weight on the back wheel. If you let the throttle off you will get bad wiggles, I have seen may on road rider get out on the sand with great hopes and come off quite badly. And remember keep drinking lots and lots of water i used to try a get a liter an hour down my neck out there. Good luck in the sand
