Garmin

Praise where praise is due, as they say (dunno who 'they' are mind!)

Last year, 24hrs before departure I killed my Zumo550 - it was all my fault, although the guy on the Garmin support desk didn't think what I did actually killed it, anyway rather than try to get it fixed I purchased a new one (ouch!) and was on my way.

Last wednesday I decided that it might be worth trying to fix it, so I messed about a bit (Pretty sure the OS was fried), tried the Zum forum, spoke to Garmin who spent a good while on the phone with me before conceeding defeat. I was told that the price of repair was 129.67 for an out-of-warrenty job. I considered that I could probably make my money back on that if I sold it so off it went, Special Delivery (because it's covered up to 500) on Wednesday teatime.

On Friday morning, I recieved a parcel from Garmin. That has to be chuffing quick by any standard.

Yesterday I opened the box, I was a little worried as the box was much heavier that I though it should be. What I found had me dancing in the living room!!!

I know, not a pretty sight for those that have met me....

Inside the box, a refurbished Zumo550 with 2009 mapping on it, as well as a FULL set of bit's bobs (car mount, Map Source 2009, M'cycle moount, RAM Mount, cables, screwdrivers, carry cases etc) all brand spanking new... and 90 days warrenty too.

So I sent off my busted unit, paid my 129.64 and got 380 of kit back! Brilliant service.

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant Service

Garmin.

I now have some excess kit..........
