Hi there, Hunday
When i just got my bike (XTR) it was the first thing i did.... raise the suspension. I made mine 74cm cente to centre. I was just experimenting, so 6mm(i think, could be 5) 3CR12 Stainless flatbar with the necessary drillbit size had to do. Haven't changed it yet. Although, i did tell myself to make some proper ones, if they work. Anyone who is thinking of raising their suspension, R 250 is a really descent price. I know a guy that might be interested... he is on the forum... will let him know. I might just order a set myself.
I am curious though... What did you do to your front suspension? I put the Kev type spacers in, which made it slightly higher and stiffer. There are guys thinking that you only need 15W oil?
Kev warned me about the bottom chain roller. Mine was practically destroyed before i knew it. I must say that i weigh about 100kg, and i have my back-shock pre-load set to its hardest. This means that when i sit on the bike, the the top side of the chain follows a straight line directly between the 2 sprockets, putting no strain (little strain is maybe a better word) on the rubber protector/guide on the swing-arm. The only solution i found was to move the bottom chain roller... There is a hole on the chain roller bracket closer to the frame. This hole is to small for the chain roller bolt/shaft to go through. I drilled it to size and fitted a nylock nut on the back. For now it seems to be working. I am curious how you solved this problem.
I am planning to fit a 2-in-1 exhaust. When you do this, i am not to sure if the bottom chain roller is still necessary???
