Would be nice to have sort of a minimum requirements list of tools that a Tenere driver far from civilization should have. Not spare parts etc, just the tools. Suggestions?

I would spend sometime looking at the bikewith you Workshop tool kit. and see what you need for the jobs you see you will need to do.
That will give you a pile of tools you need.
Then spend some time looking at the pile and see what you can get that combines as many as possible. Then add the emergency fixes (Pliers, cutters, Leatherman, electrical tape, Cable ties, length of wire etc)
For example you can get Screw drivers that allow Sockets to be fitted to the end, see if this will allow you to srink the pile. Also you can get Screw drivers that fit a scoket wrench. Check off road online bike shops, KTM do a good t bar hex that has the sockets that fit on the end (Only any good if the sizes fit the Yam).
But when you buy, buy good quality especially open end spanners, Screw driver ends.
