Managed to to put on a new rear Sirac today. It was also a Sirac that came off. I broke the bead with the bike's side stand (like I used to do on my old GS), but it wasn't
that easy. And I am always a bit anxious to destroy the rim - or to drop the bike. It all went well (with three long levers, lots of dish soap, and doing
really small bites when putting on the new tyre). But warm weather today, so both tyres could soften in the sunshine. Would have been much, much more difficult if being on the road in rainy and cold weather!
So thanks! next time I'll follow your advice.
