My original key and keyway were worn.
A standard key was too loose.

Anyway I�ve got the dreaded knocking noise again; so will check again for play in the crank and big end.

So may have to do a rebuild, as just increasing the bearing preload will just cause more premature wear of crankshaft bearings.
