New (ish) xt660z rider

Hi guys and gals,

Just want to introduce myself. My names Simon and I've been a browsing member of this forum for a few months now before finally deciding to join up properly.
I bought my first Yamaha in the shape of an 09 660z tenere in April of this year.

This is in addition to a few other bike I have and it was bought with the intention of doing some overland trips and some green laning on the weekends.
It seems that the bike I bought has been cursed as the day i bought it, it fell off the bike trailer on the way home, luckily there was hardly any damage but that was just the start.....

Bike on the trailer before it fell off
I enjoyed a few green laning trips and some camping trips to Cornwall on it before a few months ago someone pulled out in front of me and the bike was swiftly written off by the insurance due to it being an uneconomical repair.
I knew the extent of the damage however and realised that if i bought the ike back from the insurance then I would have a perfectly working bike again for not much money so that's exactly what I did. I got the bike back about a month ago and have repaired it and added a few other extras that i though it needed.
When I bought it, the only modifications were a bash plate and the leo vince twin exhaust (which sound wicked I must add). Since getting the bike back I have added the following:
-Crash bars (a bit late I know......)
-Oxford heated grips
-12v charger along with a volt meter
-Trail tech coolant temperature gauge
-SWmotech centre stand
-Givi tall screen
-LED spot lights
-K&N air filter
-Scottoiler
-Some cheap ebay throwover paniers (quite impressed by these actually)
and a few other bits and bobs but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Here are a few pics of a little trip to Cornwall I had and looking forward to going on a lot more.

If anyone's in the south UK area and would like to go off and have some rides I'll be about

Here are a few pics of the bike now with the crash bars on etc.

Anyway, thanks for reading (if you got to the end of all this) and I'll no doubt speak to some of you via the forum at some point.
Simon.
