both bikes look too worn out for their mileage compared to my XTR which has done 12k +!! (unless the pictures are not a good indication)
For me, the R is good for light off roading or trail riding (with the OEM tyres) but copes well with our poor roads (bumps, potholes, cracks, ...) with higher ground clearance, softer suspension & larger front wheel.
The brakes on the R are brembo and very well balanced for the bike
I think try to ride the R as well because you will find it different to X and may/ may not like it.
Doing stunts on bike (or cars) is very demanding on the drive train so be careful
