Hi, I'm Neal

Have just joined the xt riding community, having bought a 2011 XT660X a week ago. I live just outside Portsmouth and work in Chichester.
Been riding for about 35 years, starting with BSA 250 single, owned several bikes including few BM, and a fireblade before buying my dream bike, an 1150GS. Still own this and think it is perfect, until I drop it, as it weighs a lot, particularly as I'm now old and pathetic, hence the xt which I find so much lighter.
So far I love it, is so different to the GS which was very stable, smooth and comfortable. The XT is very lively, very economical and hopeless at slow speed, (but hopefully this can be at least improved) and great fun.
Used to attempt light work on my bikes but not too confident these days.
Looking forward to learning more about the XT and what is possible
