You have to check the consumer protection laws in Finland to see what is what.

It seems to me that the store is in the wrong. And even if you are not legally eligible for some sort of compensation, you might have the right to report him and that threat could get you a compensation. All this I pull out of my arse though. You really should contact the Consumer Protection Agency in Finland to get valid answers.
