Back in 2014 (at the time of the OP) a genuine Yamaha pump assembly was 'genuinely' an eye-watering �700. They are slightly cheaper now at �450.

The actual pump has always been available separately from third party suppliers on ebay for anywhere between �25 and �50, and yes they are all Chinese in origin. However, that is only the internal pump.

The point I made with respect to the OP is still relevant though, even three years on: Be very very careful when disassembling your fuel pump assembly to replace the internal pump inside. The casing is brittle and easily broken and rendered useless, and said casing is NOT available from any aftermarket source! Even at �450, you still don't want to break it.
