It is Actually a standard Hepco+Becker rack. I bought a used 30+40 liter hepco+becker junior set for my XT600Z back in 2003. So when i bought the Super Tenere with the exhaust in the same side it was a no brainer to just buy a rack for it - i thought.
I bought a new rack from Kedo and it dit not fit. I could'nt figure out if it was by motorcycle that was bend or the rack that was badly made. So i found a guy ~200km from home with an older rack that worked and rode down there. Then it was obvius that one side was identical to his but the other was clearly not. So i send it back to Kedo that send it back to Hepco + Becker that stated that there was nothing wrong with the rack - there were iso certified and did not make any errors - arrogant sons of *****es. When Kedo got it back the got their hands on another super tenere and concluded that the rack could be bend into shape so that both sides was about level ... In the mean time i had bought a used rack on ebay (that was level on both sides and just wanted my money back)
PS I stille have the pictures that document what crap hepco+becker made at the time - i can only guess that they have updated their rig and mixed the old/new version of it since one side was clearly identical to the two older versions (two - the one the i rode 400km to test and the other i bought off ebay) while the other cases a 2,5cm difference in height !
My order was 17. April and in the end the complaint was closed in the middle of August (of which H+B spent 80 days to look it) then another dane bought the rack that had then been modified by Kedo to fit.
Long rant but in the end i rode arround 120.000km with the junior cases - that were 10 years old when i bought them...
But since the issues with the rack i've steared away from Hepco & Becker products.
Why th f**k they they just did'nt say - sorry we made a mistake and will correct the rack entead of insisting that rack was just fine ....
- XT660Z - long way from home (Only 200km with a shortcut by ferry
- XTZ750 - Same sidecases
- Pictures of the difference between the new rack from kedo and the old one. The motorcycle was symmetical in the places where it was bolted on so the end of the tubes should line up ...
