The XT has a very heavy clutch ..
there is a mod to soften the clutch pull
makeing the lever on the motor longer..
theres a thread here about the mod
someone will post a link for yer...
I can't remember what the thread is called...

there is also a unit that fits in the cable to change
the ratio.... moose racing make them...
