just thought id share my first,well 4th..dohh!! moment with the R..

after some fettling other day i gave her a wash down and used the hosepipe.. didnt think anything about it.

Went to start her and ....nothing. All the noises and no go. No warning lights.

hmmm...fuses ok..no obvious water in the airbox..time to check the plug. it was wet but not with petrol..taste test confirmed that one.

dried it put it back in ..still no go.

took it out again and was wet again. dried and checked for a spark.all good. Whilst testing for a spark i noticed a 'cloud' of vapour shooting out of the spark plug hole. Continued to crank it till the clouds stopped and put plug back in.

What the hell...tried it and eventually she fired up and now runs perfick.

Somehow got water inside her..only thing i can think of is via air filter and/or when i sprayed over the exhaust /rear end from the rear of bike.

Wont be doing that again. Fair cacked mesen!!
