Perhaps the Sportsmart 2's wear better than the orignals? I got about 3k+ miles from both the 2 rear sportsmart 2 tyres I had and I wasn't particularly easy going on them, even done a good 500 miles or more 2 up on the last one. The front one was pretty **** by the time I replaced them with the middle harder compound section wearing far less than the softer edges causing slight wobble at low speeds.

These pilot streets are one of only 8 H speed rated tyres that I could find to fit the XTX, the other 7 are all sporty tyres. H rated tyres are inherently cheaper than W rated ones. However the pilot streets are marketed by Michelin as made for small to medium sized bikes and are single compound so it remains to be seen how many miles I will get on the XT.
