Pleiades is on a distinguished road
It's hard to tell exactly from the photo, but I can see evidence of cracks and what looks like fibreglass matting? I would chance a guess that the airbox has either been damaged, split or someone has tried to drill/modify it and then tried to reverse what they've done - hence the Nestle packet taped to it?

Oil in the airbox is not uncommon. It can be the result of lots of prolonged high speed rides (motorway work), owners neglecting to drain the airbox through its drain tube periodically, and/or overfilling with engine oil.

The forks are fairly easy to take apart and reassemble - they are no different to any other damper rod style motorcycle fork. You will need to jam a suitably sharpened piece of wood (a pointed broom handle works well) into the recess in the bottom of the fork leg/lower to stop the damper rod turning as you try to undo it.
