I personally like the popping sound (my bike is factory original) but if yours is too much, loud or objectionable, then other than PC, moding the O2 sensor feedback look can give you a fixed fuel mixture which can be set to leaner.

the popping is there because of the unburnt fuel being deliberately ignited. If you remove this feature, then your exhaust will stink of petrol and anybody behind you will get high on the fumes
