Ive had my radiator cap fail and leak meaning my bike over heated on a few short trips until I could figure out what was the problem. Ive now replaced it and refill the radiator however ive ran the engine at standing still for a good 5 mins with some revving in between and the fan hadn't come on and there was quiet a fair bit of head from the engine coming. The radiator and all the hoses I could feel where roasting but no fan had come one.

Ive found out that the diagnostic mode cant be access like my old XTR on the dash and the fan tested. I ran a bit of electrical cable and testing the fan directly to the battery and it was working.

How long on tick over does it take for your fan to come on?

And if the fan is working but isn't coming on what else can I check to try and found out if there is a problem and where it lyes?
