The post 2012 bikes do have a slightly different two pipe breather arrangement (and the abs one's different again).

Can't help you with a later service manual, but what I can suggest is having a look at the online parts catalogue which has exploded diagrams of the later model's parts and how they go together.

I can't see why an earlier tank can't be made to work on a later bike. Only the one breather is necessary for the fuel system to function properly. The addition of the second one will just be to meet changed emissions or safety legislation.
