Agree with the (un)necessity of the crashbars. I had SW Motech crashbars on my Ten which caused extensive damage to my bike when I had a meeting with mother earth during an offroad trip. They caught on the ground while the bike was still moving and bent back, chipping the tappet cover and the tank, as well as damaging the side of the radiator frame. I asked the insurance not to replace them.
A decent bash plate and water pump protection makes more sense.
