The revs aren't always returning to tick over either. After a blip of the throttle the revs lag a little before going back to 2000. Also the tickover went up to 3000 for a few seconds and then back to 1500 and then back to 2000 without any input from myself. Can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Other than the obvious which would be checking that the idle screw on the left hand side of the throttle body is not sticking, a bit of DW40 goes a long way also I would inspect the full throttle line remove, spray grease and refit, the other possible culprit would be an incorrectly set TPS i.e. throttle position sensor.
