That’s a GPT 250, dating from somewhere between 1930 and 1946. Interestingly they were the first 2-stroke to have a throttle-controlled oil injection system and separate oil and fuel partitions in the tank so the more sophisticated gent didn’t have to get his hands dirty premixing fuel. They were also one of the first bikes to have coil ignition, the ultimate in 1930s tech!
From 1931 all Velocette tank decals read: "26-28-29 TT Winners". However, the GTP was a popular club racing mount and was quite successful at the TT during the thirties, so it may well have a racing past?
