As you suspected. Fuse 2 was blown. I replaced with spare, horn is working as well as the rear brake switch. The front is still dead though.

Then I would suspect that the front brake light switch has failed. When it broke it caused a temporary short which blew the fuse and now it doesn't work at all.
What you could do to check this is trace the wires back to the connector and detach it. Use a multimeter connected across the switch side connector terminals to check the operation of the switch. Also bridge the two loom side connector terminals with a piece of wire and check to see if the stop light comes on. This will verify the switch is dead and that the wiring to/from it is OK.
