After trying several Rukka jackets (admittedly the cheaper ones) I have come to the conclusion that its not for me. It makes sense if you're using UK roads all year but not really for warmer climates. The safety aspects are the main selling points IMHO. The wide open sleeves would worry me with rain (I like short gloves) and the neck neoprene is less comfortable than my budget Weise (Nomad). As a matter of fact, for fit I would pick my Weise over all those fancy jackets I tried today. And all the zip out sections with mesh and full exhaust on the back shoulders work great as I used it in France in summer. I therefore have to try the Klim Overland, which seems a sensible answer to hot weather riding and keeping dry. But heck the only UK seller seems to be in Norfolk, and certainly need to try this on first before I commit.
A last alternative could even be to stick with my Weise and just wear a thin Goretex golf jacket instead of its unbreathable zip out rain layer. The search continuous for one jacket that can do it all for me.
