+1. Fwiw, mine is set at around 1600. I prefer a fast idle, but a lot of people don't. I think it makes for easier control at low throttle settings, better gearshift, and a slightly easier transition between closed and re-opening the throttle in most situations.
Injected big singles are not plodders like many of the old ones. A low idle speed causes dramas, as you've already read.
Hope it gets sorted anyway. Worrying, especially when a bike is new.
