Some folk say that smaller central electrode and the fact the iridium coating provides a microscopically smoother surface makes iridium plugs less prone to fouling on a 2-stroke, so I can see where you're coming from. However, changing to a different heat range of standard plug would probably have the same effect.
On a 4-stroke that is fuelled and running correctly fouling is unlikely to be an issue. However, there are a few members here who have gone one grade hotter and reported better performance?
