Well ... not very good . I usually ride 20-30 miles each way to any offroad and I learned to live with them but if you are doing any riding other than getting to trails then C21 is probably bad idea and so is C02.

I agree with Al on the TKC front in mud... yes it's doable but little fun.

My favourite semi aggressive combo is Pirelli MT21 front and E09 rear. Good on the road, good in the dry offroad, acceptable on wet trails. They wear at the similar rate too. Off road, MT21 seems to be a bit better than TKC , I find them similar on pavement.

It must also be said that my completely shot set of C21/C02 was still working better in the bog than any of the tyres mentioned above when new...
