They are a good tent for the price (as most Vango stuff is).

I have used them for a number of years at work (taking school kids on field trips and DofE). The kids don't seem to be able to break them! Did have some Phad 3 tents and they didn't last 5 minutes in the hands of teenagers.

What I would say is, give the 300 some serious thought. It isn't much heavier/bigger when packed (or expensive), but is a whole lot more roomy when pitched.

Oh, I almost forgot... The porch area is next to useless if it's raining because of the slope and the way the entrance opens. With the entrance unzipped, the ground sheet and anything in there get wet. You need to use a tarp over the front to make it work. A tarp is a must anyway, so not really and issue.
