Pleiades is on a distinguished road
From the symptoms you describe I would definitely be pointing an accusing finger at the side stand switch.

Check the wiring carefully, they can wear through at various points. Remove the left-hand side panel and trace the wiring all the way back to the connector. Unplug the connector and using a multimeter connected to the two terminals of the switch side of the connector, check the switch operates as it should and there are no funny readings. You should get a simple 1 or O when reading the resistance/continuity.

If you find a problem and it's the switch, not the wiring, then you could try cleaning the switch as best you can with contact cleaner. Otherwise it'll be a new switch.

For the time being though you can cut off the switch and solder the two wires together, or scotchlok them together, to provide a constant connection to keep you on the road in the mean time. This will fool the start inhibitor system into thinking the stand is up all the time. Be wary though that the bike could be started in gear on the stand with disastrous consequences!
