Pleiades is on a distinguished road
Other than colour changes to bodywork, protective plastics and different decals, the changes have been minimal…

 Production starts in Italy.

Improved crankcase breather baffle box/catch tank to reduce oil blow-by into airbox. Regulator/rectifier connector improved to prevent earth terminal meltdown and no charge. (There’s some debate about what Yamaha actually did as the part number for the reg/rec unit and loom are the same – probably just better PDI/assembly?) Seat cover redesigned with coloured stitching.

 Production moved to Spain.

ABS XT660ZA introduced (lower suspension, no front preload adjustment, modified tank shape to make room for battery under tank, and of course ABS)

(mid): Modified fork internals made by KYB involving a long spacer, short progressive spring and raised preload adjusters.

Headlight reflector design changed to improve spread of light. Tnr “Touring” model (same low suspension as ABS bike, standard panniers, centre stand and handguards but no ABS) appeared in the UK only and then disappeared just as quick. ABS model discontinued in UK as nobody bought one! Production moved to France.

A couple of owners have claimed there was a change in fuel map, but there’s no factual/dyno evidence to support this and the ECU part numbers are identical for all year 2008-2015 (unlike the R/X).

 No changes.
