darkhelmet is on a distinguished road
What i've done so far:

- swapped air filter for a Off The Road. This model allows me to swap out just the foam on longer dirt trips. The foam is a lot more compact then a complete filter with bracket.
Also the filter already in the bike was quite dirty and i couldnt get it cleaned properly.

- removed the Stage 2 restrictor ring. Just kept the outer ring. Difference shown in this topic: http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=23455

- changed the battery for a Motobatt. I do this on all my bikes together with a MOSFET R/R. The Motobatt battery is lighter, more powerfull an very reliable. And it has easier terminals, they are threaded, instead of a loose nut which you can loose and is harder to get on when there's more connected. (see test of Motobatt http://www.intruderalert.com/cafe/in...topicID=176271) It has proven itself to me on my previous bikes and on a long trip through Africa.

See them both on a scale: 800 grams weight difference

The battery bracket had to be modified a little, because the Motobatt lacks the indent on top:

- I have still to change the Regulator/Rectifier, but i have one lying around:
It is one from a Street Triple and a MOSFET type. The Street Triple had a recall after loads of R/Rs failed, because of a crappy Shunt type version was mounted. Mine died twice, after which i mounted a motobatt and MOSFET and been perfect since. The recall came later on...

- I've removed the rear swing arm protector. I think it didn't match with the front axle guard. I'll probably get a standard black one later on.

- I've mounted a Fuzebox, to connect accessoires. I've had a similar fusebox on my Tiger 1050 and liked it a lot: not connecting all accessories directly to the battery or tapping into the loom at different points.
I don't have pictures of this one yet
