Surprise surprise, Halfords are nothing more than the Dixons of the automotive world.
In 1993 I once had a Ford 100E (with a 105E engine) I was banger racing it (yes, really), it was on a trailer and I needed a standard Ford set of points (same as a black dizzy Cortina, Escort) but he insisted he couldn't sell me a set as I must go to a "classic specialist".
Or the time I was looking at aTom Tom satnav, Halfords boy spotted I had a 60s car and refused to sell me a Tom Tom as " they don't work with dynamos".
Idiots.
