There's an updated crankcase breather box available if you can be bothered to do any draining.

On my XTZ I cut mine hose just level with the small wire cage that holds the hose form flapping about. If I hit anything whilst off road that could pull the plug off,then the engine will be breathing dirty air. Having it tucked up out of the way of rocks and branches should've been thought about at the design stage IMO.
