Yeah, you can easily spot the difference. The 1998-2003 FZS reg/rec unit has a trailing lead as you describe. The 2004- FZ6 unit is just like the XTZ version with a socket in the body and no leads.

You need the one that has the lead, which is the exact one you've spotted for sale.
