all good... turns out there was a worn (or compressed) o-ring in the fuel pump assembly. im not worried about the error codes now as im sure they have nothing to do with the problem at hand! I ended up fitting 2 o-rings to the assembly rather than one and now it sits in firm with no play between the 2halves of the fuel pump assembly... after 2 days... finally got it right!
