Hi mate,

Welcome to the forum.

The bike is bulltproof, you should not worry. The mileage you state means that the bike is as good as new. As far as I know you cannot manipulate the the clock unless you dissasemble the dash. Basically by looking at the bike you can tell if the stated is true. Mine was 10K when i got it (with history however) and the downpipes were just starting to get dark blue all other things looked as new, another telltale is the seat - the colour tends to fade away with time and miles.
Technically I cannot think of something which might surprise you, maybe fork oil rings
The famous surging is to be expected but as you are in the right place - this forum, you should not worry. Couple of little adjustments and you are done.
The bike is fantastic and VERY reliable, fun to ride both city commute and weekend dash in the country.
Go ahead.

Good luck
