Last year some friends and I went to Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Bosnia, Serbia etc from the UK on 2 XT-Rs, a 1995 Triumph Tiger and a modern KTM.
The temperatures were very high (38 deg in Bulgaria), the bikes loaded and working through the Sofia traffic! Fans were running a lot.
To the extent one of the XT fans died, they are only based on 20% constant running so the heat was too much.
My old Triumph coped ok, the KTM's fan ran nearly all the time.
Whilst I accept the XT cooling system is fine generally we wanted this time to have a little "extra" cooling capacity, to help when the temp needs bringing down.
The problem for the Ten is there's nowhere to put a cooler! So the problem sorts itself out there and then!
I'm fitting a temperature gauge just for peace of mind.
