I have a pair of lightweight safety glasses which were on special offer at Jewsons (builder's merchants in UK). I got them for things like strimming the garden (spectacle-style so no misting up) but in fact the optical quality is good enough for using on the bike and they seem to keep the wind out of my eyes OK. Cost under a fiver.
I got the yellow lenses, and they certainly make the contrast better on dull or rainy days. An added bonus is that they make the world look a bit more cheerful.
