I recently got a Hepco & Becker rear rack for my XTR (same rear end as your 2004 XTX) and am well pleased. Good price (compared to the Yamaha version), strong, well made and the full range of H&B top boxes will fit it.
Got mine in Australia from OZ distributor so you would search closer to home - but I reckon they're pretty good!
