My biggest advice to you would be to make sure you are buying from a reputable dealer, I mean these bikes are pretty sound so it is easy to spot tell tale signs of wear and tear, inspect for rust on engine casing, check that the sprockets and chain are sound, you want to get some miles out them at least before you have to replace them during your service intervals.
By all means take it for a test ride and see if you can feel a smooth engine, and that should be just about it.
But as I've said if you buy from a reputable dealer, have a look at the terms of the warranty, what is and what is not covered and make sure that there is a return policy in case you either are not satisfied or something turns out to be wrong.
For anything else once you are happy and you have got it, come back here for advice and support on anything related to these wonderful bikes, cause that's what we're here for.
Enjoy and good luck
